Dr. Peter J. Duffett-Smith has served as our Research & Development Director since November 1995 and currently holds the position of Chief Scientific Officer. Dr. Duffett-Smith is the founder of Cambridge Positioning Systems and the inventor of its technology. He developed the technology over several years at the Cavendish Laboratory in the University of Cambridge's Department of Physics. He has been a Physics lecturer at the University of Cambridge since 1985 and a Fellow of Downing College at the University of Cambridge since 1980. Dr. Duffett-Smith obtained a B.Sc. in Natural Sciences with 1st Class Honours at Peterhouse College, University of Cambridge, and went on to complete a Ph.D. in Radio Astronomy, being awarded the Hamilton Prize for work on long delayed echoes in 1973. |
