Staff

Giles Hutchison, Chief Executive Officer

Giles has managed Reciva since its inception at the end of 2002, and has been instrumental in the raising of funds, and building the team as Reciva has grown.
Because of his experience in the streaming media market, in October 2002 Giles was tasked with formulating a strategy for Reciva. Initially funded by Nexus Electronics, Reciva was founded as a result of the expanding Broadband market, widespread adoption of wireless technologies, and a growing demand from listeners for on-line content.
Prior to this, Giles was one of the founders of Nexus Electronics Limited, and together with Julian Brown, built Nexus into a widely recognised and successful design consultancy, prior to selling it to FutureTV in 2000. Giles was Senior Vice President, at FutureTV Inc. where he managed software development teams, and hardware manufacture, arranging the assembly of Set-top boxes for FutureTVs interactive TV system.
Philip Blundell, Chief Technical Officer

Philip is responsible for software system architecture, design and development at Reciva. Philip is well known in the open-source software community and has been involved in development of the Linux kernel, the GNU Compiler Collection, and Familiar Linux, the embedded operating system used on handheld devices such as the HP iPAQ.
Philip is an experienced software engineer and project manager who has been associated with Reciva since its formation, from implementing the first Reciva prototype Internet radio through to managing the software releases for today’s Reciva Internet Radio modules.
Ben Terrell, Chief Financial Officer

Prior to joining Reciva, Ben spent most of his career as a proprietary trader in the City of London. After initial training with UBS he spent almost five years at Salomon Brothers in the Equity Division. More recently, he was Head of Equity Proprietary Trading at UFJ International plc, the London-based investment banking arm of Japanese group UFJ Holdings, where his team returned a consistently high profit.
Ian Henderson, Director of Sales

Ian has a wealth of experience in the technology sector. From the mid-nineties he was with internet and hosting provider PSINet through their major growth, as both Sales and Marketing Director and Deputy Managing Director. He successfully contributed to their annual sales growth from $3m to $100m over a 4 year period making PSINet a major force in the European marketplace. Prior to PSINet, Ian was Sales and Marketing Director Europe for Harte-Hanks, a billion dollar turnover US company supplying data-driven marketing and CRM solutions for major players in the IT and Telecoms sector. As European Sales and Marketing Director at major telco NTT Verio, Ian was instrumental in their growth from new entrant in the European market to becoming an established company, with customers such as UEFA, Swatch and CadburySchweppes.
