NXT plc is a provider of unique sound and touch screen solutions, and is best known for its flat panel loudspeaker technology. The Company has its origins in the British audio industry and is responsible for the development of the Distributed Mode Loudspeaker (DML), an award-winning audio technology that can be applied across numerous industries to create highly differentiated products and solutions.

NXT plc is a UK public company traded on the London Stock Exchange.

More than 250 companies based in over 50 countries license NXT technologies and there are over 100 NXT-based products available to purchase

Over five million NXT-based loudspeakers were shipped by NXT licensees in the financial year 2004 / 05 – up 66% from the previous year.

NXT currently has 67 staff, almost half of whom are engaged in R&D

NXT technologies can be found in audio systems, buildings, mobile phones, commercial audio systems, PCs and laptops, TVs, cars, aircraft, railway stations, motorcycle helmets – even a sofa is available with NXT loudspeakers.

Peter Thoms, Chief Executive Officer

Peter Thoms was appointed to the Board in December 1992. A Chartered Accountant, he worked for the Gillette Company for 15 years, first as Vice-President & Director of Finance of Gillette Canada Inc., and then as Controller of Gillette Northern Europe. Peter moved from there to the position of Group Finance Director of Amstrad plc. Peter joined NXT (formerly Verity Group) in 1992 as Finance Director and Company Secretary, and in 2005 was appointed Chief Operating Officer. He was appointed Chief Executive in 2007.
Kate Barnes, Finance Director and Company Secretary

Kate Barnes joined the Board as Finance Director and Company Secretary in July 2007. Ms. Barnes had previously been NXT’s Financial Controller NXT since joining the Company in 2004. A qualified Chartered Accountant, Kate trained with PWC before moving to AMP and then to Monsanto Company as Financial Controller, Northern Europe.
