Kherion Technology was founded in August 2003 with the backing of an excellent Scientific Advisory Board, by four enterprising scientists in the fields of Biochemistry, Molecular Genetics, Molecular Virology and Pharmacology. All founders were previously based in the University of Cambridge.
Staff
Dr. James Patrick Mixon, has been instrumental in establishing the company as a skilful scientist and entrepreneur. He performed his research mainly in the fields of Molecular Virology and Infectious Diseases over a period of six years subsequent to obtaining his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree from the University of Notre Dame (Notre Dame, USA). During this time, Dr. Mixon has worked in the Department of Microbiology at Emory University (Atlanta, USA), Department of Pathology for Grady Memorial Hospital (Atlanta, USA) and the Rabies Unit within Institut Pasteur (Paris, France). Dr. Mixon received his Ph.D. in Molecular Virology from the University of Cambridge | Dr. Marc Creus has been an integral partner of Kherion Technology since the foundation of the company. His main interests within the company are scientific, with particular emphasis in the creation of novel ideas and methodologies for product development. He has expertise in the fields of molecular biology and biochemistry and a particular interest in biomedical science. This multi-disciplinary approach stems from doctoral and post-doctoral research carried out at the Department of Medicine at Cambridge University, centred on the biochemical basis of inborn errors of metabolism and on iron-containing proteins of tuberculosis. Dr. Mohib Uddin is responsible for the company’s collaborations with leading academics as well as scientists from the pharmaceutical sector. Dr. Uddin has many years of experience in both industry and academia as a pharmacologist. He graduated from King's College, University of London (England) with a B.Sc. Honours Pharmacology and as part of his research training has worked for Astra Zeneca in Loughborough, U.K. After a period of industrial research, Dr. Uddin then studied at the University of Cambridge, where he earned his Ph.D. in Biochemical Pharmacology from the Department of Medicine. Dr. Uddin has presented his research at various international conferences/meetings in the United States of America, Italy and Japan. His main research interests are within the field of inflammation, specifically the role of leukocytes in chronic inflammatory conditions of the airways such as asthma. |
