Keronite
www.keronite.comKeronite Ltd is a global technology company with an environmentally-friendly process for the surface treatment of light alloys. The patented chrome-free technology is widely used to transform the surface of aluminium and magnesium into a hard, dense ceramic with outstanding resistance to corrosion and wear.
The company provides advice and implements practical solutions in a variety of industries where there is a growing desire to use lightweight aluminium or magnesium in even the most demanding environments.
Keronite technology was transferred from Russia to the UK in 1998 when a new company was set up in the Isle of Man and the intellectual property relating to PEO technology assigned to it. A local technology incubator company, now Flintstone Technology plc, funded the further development of the process, ensuring that it could be scaled up successfully and become cost effective on a commercial basis.
Keronite Ltd was incorporated in March 2000. Following a successful fundraising, the company established its international headquarters at Granta Park.
The company remains privately funded and has a relatively small number of key shareholders including CLS plc. These shareholders have demonstrated their commitment to the company and its technology by participating in a number of fundraising rounds. It is the intention to take the Company to AIM in future
