Intercytex is an emerging healthcare developer of cell therapy products for the woundcare and aesthetic medicine markets. It is using its proprietary expertise in cell therapy to develop products that harness the innate ability of human cells to regenerate and repair the body.
Intercytex commenced operations in 2000 and has raised over 31 million pounds in four private equity financing rounds. The Company has over 60 employees and is headquartered in Cambridge, with GMP clinical production facilities and research located in Manchester, UK and additional research laboratories in Boston, MA.
Intercytex has two products currently in clinical development: ICX-PRO and ICX-TRC. ICX-PRO is designed to actively stimulate repair in chronic wounds and is currently in Phase III trials. ICX-TRC is a hair regeneration product in Phase I trials. A third product, ICX-SKN, is in preclinical development as a true skin replacement to overcome the need for skin graft procedures. All Intercytex' products are derived from unmodified, normal human cells.
Staff
Nick joined Intercytex as Chief Executive Officer in January 2005 having been a Non-Executive Director of the Company since its foundation and brings over 20 years of experience in commercialising biotechnology products. He was previously Chief Business Officer and a Board Director of Acambis plc (vaccines) which he joined in 1994. He was responsible for all commercial activities including IP management, licensing, corporate development, mergers/acquisitions and sales and marketing. In addition, he played a key role in the Company’s flotation on the London Stock Exchange in 1995. | Paul founded Intercytex in 1999 and is its Chief Scientific Officer. He has over 17 years of experience in the commercial development of cell therapy. Prior to founding Intercytex, he was VP Research at Organogenesis Inc (connective tissue research). He is a principal inventor on several patents related to various regenerative medical therapeutics including wound repair stimulant Apligraf®. |
