Nicholas Clayton specialises in the development of applications for making large quantities of reference information available online. Interactive, electronic reference sources now make even the largest data collections easy to store and access, but to be truly usable the material must be well structured and the interface must be well thought out. Nicholas' strengths lie in his ability to structure information for continuing usability. One of the founding members of Information Transfer, Nicholas has worked extensively in helping companies such as the International Securities Services Association and the British Bankers' Association manage their information: "getting the right information to the people who need it, in the form that they can use most easily". The method may be a learning programme or a screen-based look-up facility, or a blended approach incorporating screen-based and printed materials. | Debbie Ganz joined Information Transfer in 1994 and became a Partner in 1995. Having previously worked in marketing and educational publishing, she has had experience of developing materials for very diverse audiences, and of making even the most dry information accessible and interesting. Debbie has a logical and analytical mind (her degree is in mathematics) and she likes to understand how machines and systems work. She applies this enthusiasm to her projects, in the creation of clear and practical operator training and assessment materials for industrial clients, delivered either on paper or on screen. These are recognised as vital tools in improving production and quality levels, and in advancing personal development for employees. Debbie has worked for many years with some of the key manufacturing companies, particularly in the food and drink sector: Nestlé, Campbells', McVitie's and Grampian Foods, as well as on a wide range of other projects for clients such as Thames Valley Police, Ernst & Young, Yorkshire Forward and Cussons. Companies value her ability to understand their processes and procedures and work with them to enhance efficiency. |
Roger Mann has worked extensively in the financial sector, producing training courses in all media on insurance and investment products and regulatory issues, as well as simplifying and communicating information on products and procedures. His in-depth knowledge of the sector, technical expertise and professional writing skills have led to long term relationships with many clients, including major accountancy firms. In addition to his work in the financial sector, Roger has many years' experience developing user guidance for computer systems, from paper-based manuals to on-screen help, tutorials and 'guided tours'. | Rachel Meller has been with Information Transfer since 1987 and is a Partner with the company. Rachel has many years' experience helping organisations structure their corporate information to make it accessible to the end-user, whether delivered on paper or electronically via a website. With a PhD in biomedical research, Rachel has worked for many clients in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors, developing training and product knowledge materials. She has written and produced print and computer-based programmes for training sales representatives and also for medical and marketing personnel; she also writes technical literature intended for both patients and medical specialists. She has recently been involved in a major project with Bayer HealthCare and in the development of e-learning programmes for Bio Products Laboratory. Other clients include Merck Pharmaceuticals and Organon. In addition to her work in the pharmaceutical sector, Rachel works on projects to improve internal and external corporate communications. Projects have included the restructuring and design of the Board of Graduate Studies Prospectus for the University of Cambridge, and an extensive study for i10, the collaboration between universities and industry in East Anglia. |
