www.elisa.co.ukGenesis Diagnostics Ltd specialises in high quality ELISA based diagnostic test kits for use in autoimmunity, immunology and microbiology laboratories. The tests are developed in-house within purpose built laboratories equipped with state of the art equipment. It works closely with major instrument manufacturers to validate the performance of kits on automated ELISA systems.
It is a privately owned company based close to the historic cathedral city of Ely. The Company has the benefit of close professional links with many of the clinical research departments in the University of Cambridge.
Formed in 1994, Genesis developed the first quantitative test kit for H pylori antibodies in serum.
In 2003 Genesis, in cooperation with bioMerieux, developed the Citrullinated Protein Antibody (CPA) test. Based on citrullinated filaggrin, the new test provides a very specific diagnostic marker for rheumatoid arthritis.
Staff
Mike graduated in Biology & Chemistry and completed an MSc before carrying out research for a PhD in the diagnosis and pathophysiology of parasitic diseases at the Royal Veterinary College. He spent the next 25 years working with the Serono organisation, initially setting up a veterinary diagnostic laboratory utilising the latest immunoassay techniques. This grew into a thriving business as SCL Bioscience Services Ltd, which also carried out clinical trial laboratory support under GLP conditions. Subsequent positions included Corporate Head of Bioanalytical methods; he then moved to Bourn Hall as Head of Clinical Research and later General Manager of the famous IVF Clinic and Phase I clinical trial unit. Mike brings to Genesis his broad experience of management in a global pharma company, together with an understanding of what the customer needs from diagnostic products and services. | Dr. Julie Reeve is an experienced research scientist with a proven 25-year track record in biomedical research and diagnostics. Before joining Genesis Diagnostics in 1998, Julie worked for the Medical Research Council for 16 years, during which time she co-authored over 40 original research papers in peer-reviewed journals. Since joining the Company, Julie has developed many of the Company’s ELISAs. She is also responsible technical support, quality assurance and regulatory affairs. |
