The Equus Capital Association was founded in 2002 to assist small and medium sized enterprises.
The nucleus of its investor community is MBAngels: members of The Association of MBAs, who have expressed interest in making investments and receiving investment opportunities. Often these investors are looking to provide active input into the management of the businesses in which they invest. In addition, it has access to a wide circle of sophisticated and high net worth private investors based in London and the South East: a total community of over 200 individuals.

 Paul Baker, Team MemberPaul Baker spent 12 years in general and financial management in multinationals as well as SMEs. He has been responsible for transactions, including acquisitions, company sales, joint ventures, a privatisation, preparing for an IPO, arranging debt and obtaining project finance. He is an Oxford graduate and has an MBA from the London Business School. |  Smuts Beyers, Team MemberSmuts Beyers has extensive general management, marketing and sales experience at senior executive level in publishing, insurance and merchant banking. His consulting experience includes strategy, sales and marketing, and general business improvement, as well as interim management assignments. He also has first hand experience of start-up businesses. |
 Nigel Johnson, Team MemberNigel Johnson has extensive experience of senior financial management gained with Unilever, ITT/STC, Morgan Crucible, LM Ericcsson, Hughes Network Systems and London Regional Transport. Latterly he has been involved in interim management in the electronics, marketing and not-for-profit sectors, and in funding and assistance to SMEs. He is a Chartered Management Accountant. |  Simon Harris, Team MemberSimon Harris is a widely experienced management consultant and has been providing strategic and marketing advice to the small business community for over 12 years. His earlier career was in advertising with Saatchi & Saatchi and other leading London agencies. He was previously a director of consultants Cambridge Corporate Management and is a Cambridge graduate. |
