Enecsys Limited was incorporated in July 2003 after winning the Cambridge University 50K Business Creation Competition and becoming Finalists in the London Business School Social Venture Competition.

The Enecsys team has spun out of the Electronics, Power and Energy Conversion group at the University of Cambridge Engineering Department, after significant research in this sector.

Enecsys has developed proprietary power electronics control and integrated circuit technology to pioneer the next generation of power conditioning units for grid-connected renewable energy applications. Enecsys has filed three patents covering the broad platform technology.

Enecsys has drawn up a roadmap to exploit this technology. The first sector that Enecsys has identified is the area of solar energy applications. Enecsys is currently working to identify suitable partners.
