It is dedicated to the development of wide format digital image capture and image processing solutions for both colour and monochrome applications which include graphic arts reproduction, architecture and construction, engineering (CAD), Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Electronic Document Management, and Facilities Management. Winners of the Queens Award for Export Achievement in 1999, Colortrac has facilities in Cambridge UK, Beijing and Suzhou in China and in Golden, Colorado.
Following a successful first year with the SmartLF range of large format scanners, Colortrac, the market leader in entry-level CIS technology scanners, has announced its expansion with the formation of a new Chinese subsidiary. The new company will expand large format scanner sub-assembly manufacturing capacity for SmartLF scanners and new wide format scanner products to be launched in 1st half 2006.
The new company will source components and produce electro-mechanical assemblies for export to the UK where they are combined with UK-manufactured electronics and software to produce finished scanners for sale world-wide.
Colortrac Suzhou is a key element in the company's growth strategy as it seeks to expand manufacturing capacity for the successful SmartLF large format scanner line launched in September 2004 and in its preparations for major new product launches in the first half of 2006. Also, the formation of the new company will enable Colortrac to control fully all its manufacturing activities, reduce production costs and ensure product quality for our customers.
