Cambridge Cell Networks Ltd (CCnet) is a computational systems biology company. Founded in 2002 as a spin-off from the University of Cambridge, CCnet has combined cutting-edge research in bioinformatics, proteomics and genomics, text-search and chemistry in order to address some burning needs in pharmaceutical and chemical industry.

CCnet provides software tools for elucidating mechanisms of action of chemicals on biological systems. It offers a software tool with a comprehensive map of biological pathways for assessing safety of chemicals and understanding mechanisms of toxicity. Using a multidisciplinary approach integrating bioinformatics, genomics and proteomics, chemistry, text mining and mathematics it aims to help in making safer chemicals faster

Staff

Dr Gordana Apic, Executive Director

Dr Apic holds a PhD in Bioinformatics from the University of Cambridge and a MSc in Molecular Biology from University of Heidelberg, Germany. Dr Apic has numerous scientific publications during her research at Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge and European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg. Prior to co-founding the CCnet, she was a co-founder of Novoflex, a small manufacturing business.
