Staff
Dr. Michael Lynch studied Electrical and Information Sciences at Cambridge University where he received a Ph.D. in adaptive techniques in signal processing and connectionist models as well as a research fellowship in adaptive pattern recognition. Mike's ground-breaking approach and research in these subjects provided a springboard from which he instigated a series of innovative and entrepreneurial activities including the launch of his first company Neurodynamics in 1991, follow by Autonomy in 1996 and four others. These companies have gone on to be sold in trade sales, or become publicly listed in the US and UK, and become global leaders in their fields. Mike holds a number of advisory board positions, including Apax Venture Capital, The Carlyle Group. Amongst a catalogue of distinctions and awards, Mike holds the Institute of Electrical Engineers' medal for outstanding achievement and the Confederation of British Industry's Entrepreneur of the Year Award 1999. He is also involved in charities in child health and aimed at helping to encourage entrepreneurs from disadvantaged backgrounds. |
