The Technology Partnership, an independent technology and product development company, launched a new range of digital printer electronics and software known as Meteor.

The Meteor system drives most commercially-available digital printhead types in any configuration. Technology like Meteor has not been available up to now and the industrial inkjet market has been hampered by the lack of a low cost off-the-shelf printhead driver technology, the company said. TTP believes the availability of its independent driver solution, which is not tied to any particular printhead manufacturer, will facilitate a large expansion of the market.

The Iona ‘Cube’ (pictured) is a fun new concept in low-cost, Wi-Fi enabled internet radio and will be shown at the CES event 2008, Cambridge Consultants said. In a radical departure from the traditional ‘push-button’ user-interface, the new design allows the listener to customise each side of the ‘Cube’ to play just their favourite four radio stations.

According to research, the average person listens to between three to four radio stations regularly. The Cube has been designed with this in mind. By simply turning the Cube onto one of its four available sides, it will change to the desired radio station. A fifth side is dedicated to the speaker and the final remaining side is dedicated to switching the radio to the ‘off’ position.
