ARM joins FTSE 100 share price index

Cambridge-based chip designer ARM Holdings plc, the second largest company in the Silicon Fen cluster of high tech companies, today joined the FTSE 100 index to replace Cadbury plc, following the latter's recent delisting after takeover.

ARM now has a market capitalisation of £2.64 billion.

It is just reward for the company whose roots are deeply imbedded in the Cambridge phenomenon. Chips it has designed are in a wide range of familiar products, including, it is rumoured, iPhones. Over the last five years ARM has consistently outperformed the FTSE 100 index.
